On a beautiful Sunday morning in August, 2 kayaks, 3 canoes & 1 rowboat launched at the Pine Street boat ramp in Chase, for a leisurely 20 km ‘cruise’ down the S. Thompson River for the 13th annual ‘Banana Island Canoe Trip’. With a total of 12 dancers present, it was easy to make a ‘square’, dancing first at the beach off VLA road. Continue reading

On June 5th, the Meyers hooked their 22′ trailer onto their ‘advertisement on wheels’ Sprinter Van and headed to the Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers’ 29th annual RALLY-IN-THE-VALLEY. Some 47 RV’s parked in the grassy field next to Atchelitz Hall during this beautiful sunny weekend. Barely a week after the Meyers danced at ‘Rally-In-The-Valley’ in Chilliwack; they headed for the first time, to the Radium Jamboree on June 12th and 13th. This was held at the Radium Community Hall. After 6 hours of steady driving, they still had enough energy to dance on Friday night, along with 21 squares (168 dancers), from 8 – 10 pm. Continue reading
